unlike the marketplace on the west side, the shopping centre is a much ritzier area, as expected. here, there are many more actual shops to be found than simple vendor carts lining streets and pathways. if you have rather exquisite tastes, then this is most likely the place for you - just make sure you can afford it before you get roped in by persistent salespeople and elegant window displays.
not far from the main square itself are the ornate houses that make up the east side's residences. most of the houses are rather large and accommodating, and although that sounds nice, they are also rather pricey. due to the fact that they are tucked safe and sound within the narrow streets of the island and not balanced precariously on cliffsides (like on the west side), the east side's houses range from one too-high price to the next.
tucked into a corner of the east side is a domed building that functions as the island's planetarium and observatory, providing more than a bird eye's view of the night sky. scattered around the building are high-function telescopes as well as other equipment needed for observing the mysteries held above the troposphere. in the planetarium section of the building, images of stars and planets are projected for public entertainment or education, making it a choice attraction for children as well as dates.
nestled between palm trees and held together by bamboo, the lani cabaret is the local nightclub that, like many other attractions in the east side, thrives upon hefty prices and the wealthy citizens of the east side that are willing to meet those prices. there's no real security, so it's entirely possible to sneak in, as long as you have a wad of cash ready to blow.
