one of the first things you will see when entering the dimension is hotel moana, one of the tallest buildings to be found throughout the island (aside from the council building, quite obviously). the hotel offers free, limited-time stays for newcomers who are still undecided on which dimension they would like to call home. drifters and occupants of other dimensions are also welcome here, but for a much higher price than that of the newly-arrived residents.
one of the busiest attractions in hialao happens to be the auction house, where items from different dimensions are brought and auctioned off to the highest bidder. whether they happen to be items common among the other dimensions or rare enough to be highly valuable seems to vary quite often. either way, the older residents of hialao have no real interest in leaving their quaint island town, and see this as an opportunity to see what other dimensions have to offer without really seeing it for themselves.
the main square holds some of the best opportunities for entertainment in hialao, providing residents with various attractions - such as the aquarium, complete with hialao's own species of sea creatures, as well as a few from different dimensions. not far from the aquarium are the museum and the library, which both cater to the needs of citizens searching for more information on hialao's past, as well as culture. however, these are only a few of the attractions found in the main square; explore a bit on your own and you're sure to find something to pass the time with.
from bakeries to five-star diners, hialao provides the best food the dimension has to offer. fish are caught daily from the ocean and livestock are raised in the more remote areas of the island, creating an entirely local eating experience. lining the cramped streets of the main square are also various vendor stalls, selling many different foods and for a much cheaper price, as well.
the largest and most lavish building in hialao is the council building, which marks the center of the island. here, the council discuss various topics, but that's not all. there's also a courtroom at each side of the building for when trials are held, as well as a gathering ground for events. the council building is also where newcomers may register to become an official citizen of hialao, as well as purchase property.
not much different than any other school in another dimension, hialao's school provides an education for the younger residents of the island, as well as jobs for citizens. it also offers classes for residents that never got the chance to get a proper education due to past circumstances, but would still very much like to.
