"What's so special about him anyway? ♠" Hisoka mumbled from his perch atop a building that gave him a good vantage point of the quad below. From what he could tell, the council member he had been instructed to tail and gain information on was one of the most downright boring people in the world, or...all worlds he had been to, for that matter.
His boss (for the time being until he got bored enough to kill him and take his position) had told him that this particular politician was untouchable for some reason. Anyone they sent after him usually came back scared out of their minds or badly injured.
For all Hisoka knew, the gang rarely took care of cross-dimensional business. They didn't have anyone meaningful on the job. Sooo, they had sent him because they had deemed him one of their more competent employees.
Hisoka could already tell, though, that it wasn't the council member causing the trouble. He was weak, insignificant. No... the problem was...
Hisoka narrowed his golden eyes, noting one of the guards that was getting off work and heading out. He'd give the guy... 85 points. His instincts screamed that he had some hidden potential. Some kind of power. It wasn't Nen, and he couldn't figure it out, so he would have to investigate up close. He was interested now.
Hisoka grinned, the tip of his tongue passing over his teeth as he moved across the rooftops silently, brandishing his cards. He watched as the guard took a turn between buildings, no doubt heading home.
Hisoka's aura suddenly flared to life around him, oozing a malicious bloodlust full of excitement that even a human without Nen would have been able to feel. He flipped off of the rooftop, attaching his Nen easily to the side of the building as he landed smoothly behind the man. He could see his hair was long and white, sweeping elegantly down his back. Oh~? He was kind of cute. ♥
"Hello, hello. Care to entertain me for a few moments? ♦" Hisoka asked, his Nen still leaking malicious intent around him, flooding the alleyway as he approached him. "I was looking for someone to play cards with. After all, I don't have many friends around these parts. ♠"

You hated important figures and all of their attention grabbing from various annoying sources. Seriously, why was it so hard for people to just not make enemies with people that they couldn't personally deal with? Why did they have to hire skilled peoples like yourself to do their dirty work? All you wanted to do was lay on the sofa in your living room and drink some damn whisky right now. Was that too much to ask? Seriously you just lost several people important to you, so was it really that hard to ask for a damned break?
Well apparently so cause here you were tailing this guy from a distance until your relief arrived. Seriously, you hated that bastard of an official. All he ever did was dull ass shit all day and then he makes thousands of enemies and sure while the killing wasn't all that bad since it helped you clear your head a bit, you just weren't in the condition you used to be. Your chest hurt a lot more frequently now adays and you really just wanted to sleep forever.
Not die, just sleep. You'd rather deal with the tomorrow of next year than the today of now. But alas that were not possible, especially not when you could sense you personally were being tailed. Fucking great.
You had been going home when you sensed the incredible amount of bloodlust coming off of a certain individual. Not only that, but you sensed that it was all aimed at you, and normally the hair on the back of a person's neck might stand up from such a realization, but you personally did not give a single flying fuck. You wanted the asshole to fuck off. Perhaps return on the tomorrow of next year, but not right now.
Too bad you never got what you wanted, and so here you were being faced with a fucking clown of all things. Welp, there was an insane clown posse joke in there somewhere, but you honestly were in no mood to make it so instead you continued to gaze at him with a sheer expression of "I honestly can't be bothered right now" on your face.
"Hello, hello. Care to entertain me for a few moments? ♦" Oh well at least he asked, "No." Yup that was done, and now you were starting to walk away. Seriously, you didn't give a shit about this guy and his card games or his bloodlust... Wait a minute.
That bloodlust was going to be an issue. You could already tell.

Well, he should've expected to get rejected right off the bat, but if he had to be honest, it still kind of stung. It was like when he was hung around Illumi and tried to get a reaction--any kind of facial expression other than his stoic, dead, fish-eyed stare--out of him. He was just simply not successful.
But it was no matter. Hisoka was used to such woes and denial. After all, no one really did trust the magician. He was a fickle existence, and only when someone was desperate (or Illumi), did he get hired. It was a good thing he got to this world, though. No one knew about his reputation just yet, and he was more than capable of finding work.
Oh, but if only there was someone he could constantly banter with! He was a lonely person for someone so emotionally driven. While he didn't particularly care about making new friends or having company (he often told others he was simply shy, ha, what a lie), he did have to admit that having others who could entertain him verbally was always a huge plus. In many ways, he was still a child. He sought the pleasure in things, and he only really cared about himself. Hm. Maybe that was why he was bothering this poor bodyguard dude.
"Awww, come on! ♠" Hisoka pouted as he shuffled the cards between his nimble fingers easily. His hands began to pulse with Nen as he coated each individual card with the energy. He picked on up in his hand, flipping it to his fingertips quickly. The edge barely grazed the tip of his thumb on the way, leaving a thin, hairline cute on his alabaster skin. Mmm~ sharp enough. ♥
"At least show me what you can do. ♦" Hisoka prodded as the man began to walk away. Welp. If he didn't turn around in time, then Hisoka guessed he had misjudged and needed to seriously consider his power potential grading skills again. Buuuut, he had faith this one would pull through! Abruptly, without pretense, Hisoka let the curiosity get the better of him, and he sent five cards whizzing through the air at Squalo's back. It would suck if he ended up slicing his pretty hair. Maybe he'd turn around in time.

This guy was definitely up there with the kinds of random ass people you've now met, but something about him raised up the hairs on the back of your neck. It wasn't how strange he appeared or even really his bloodlust, it was more so now that tone in his voice. He was needy. Desperate. You could tell he was looking for some fun in any way he could manage to get it. So he was looking at you.
As you walked away you realized quickly that your life could very well be in danger. This is what caused you to ball up the bionic hand you had gotten in Parse which activated the spring loaded mechanism attached to your arm drawing your sword out from the sheath hidden in your sleeve. Then everything that happened next was honestly quite a blur.
You spun around quickly bending downwards at the hip and slashing out your sword. By some unforeseen luck you cut down one of the cards that had been throw at you with this maneuver. Then in order to create a sort of shield, you gathered your flame in your blade and swung it upwards creating a sort of whirlwind affect which would manage to knock away three more cards. The last card which had somehow managed to slip past everything barely grazed your cheek before flying past and burying itself in a concrete wall. Your eyes, however, never left the pink haired clown. Not even as your cheek stung and blood began to seep from the wound.
"You really want to play cards with sharks that badly eh?" Oh god, this guy had riled you up. You could feel your own bloodlust begin to boil. You wanted to slice this guy to ribbons. "Voi... You better be ready to get sliced to bits." As you dropped the word bits you spurred yourself forward, sword brandished, aiming to slash the clown right across the chest. If you missed, though, you would activate the mechanism in your sword which would expell several gunpowder pellets in the clown's previously known location which would then deliver a non-lethal explosion.

He was fast. That was the first thing Hisoka noticed. There was a whirl of long, white hair, and the clown caught movement in his arm. A blade shot out, severing one of his cards in half and lighting on fire.
Oh~ he had a prosthetic built from Parse, didn't he? Not only that, but Hisoka could see some kind of energy following him as well. They manifested in the flames, which glowed an odd, soothing blue. Hisoka wasn't sure what it was, but he knew it wasn't Nen. It was still strong enough, however, to knock away the playing cards he had injected Enhancement Nen into, though. This guy was interesting indeed. He had picked right.
The clown ran his tongue over his teeth eagerly, tracing the points of those sharp canines of his. The last card had just grazed the other's cheek, and he could follow the droplets of blood that welled up from the thin wound. Mmm. He wondered what he tasted like? Ah, he was getting excited. He needed to calm down for a moment. He just...hadn't had a good fight in years and he was painfully hard now.
"It doesn't have to be cards. ♦" Hisoka replied cheerily. Honestly, he just wanted to play, and this guy had the right idea, threatening him. The clown let out one of his characteristic, barely contained moans of pleasure. "Oh~ I really hope you do. ♥"
He never really had gotten out of his masochistic tendencies. The moment Squalo zipped forwards, Hisoka moved fluidly as well. The blade came slashing across his chest, and he bent backwards in time to have it barely miss, slicing open the top layer of his shirt. Ah. He was going to have to stitch that back together later. Hisoka struck out, but not at Squalo. Instead, he aimed at the flat side of the blade as it passed by, aiming to slam it upwards with the flat of his palm and back into Squalo's personal space if he released the explosions. Without pause, the clown sent some of his Nen flying out behind him, attached to his elbow. It caught against the wall of the alleyway, pulling him backward and away from the gunpowder as it caught alight.
This guy was good~
Hisoka gave no pause. With Enhancement Nen in his feet, he burst forward again with explosive speed, moving to strike Squalo in the gut with his fist.

You nearly cringe when you hear that disgusting sound from him. It makes you want to slice him to bits more, especially as he expertly dodged your attacks by just a hair's breadth. He's fucking toying with you, and it pisses you off. You want to utterly obliterate him. Tear him apart. Feed him to the fishes.
Or what's left. You are a shark after all. You're known for being ruthless and gluttonous. You can feel your flesh hand begin to tremble, your shoulders following suit. Your bloodlust, god, it had been so long since it had been awoken last. Perhaps even since that fight for the Arcobaleno. God. This heart had never tasted it before, had it?
It hurt. It made your breath come quickly and sharply. Your heart, the replacement, pounded in your chest. You wanted to kill him. Fast. You knew that wouldn't happen, but you had to make it happen. You could tell you wouldn't be able to take a prolonged fight. Not in your current condition.
You were annoyed and blood thirsty. Annoyed that he dodged all of your attacks including the explosives. Blood thirsty because he chose to fuck with you. Yet you weren't given a chance to follow up. Instead he came barreling through the resulting smoke, open palm striking for your abdomen. Maneuvers like this, however, were easy for you to dodge. You'd move back with the attack, contorting your body around his attack to appear as though hit. Even going so far as to allow him to connect. You would even perhaps feel some of the force behind his hit, but there wouldn't be damage. You would have the wind knocked out of you from rust. Rust resulting from not having had a fight in a very long time, but you'd avoid majority of the damage.
You throw yourself backwards, but do not fall down. You skid to a halt, and fall to one knee for a moment, or what should have been a moment. Your heart pounds heavily in your chest, you can hear it in your ears. It does not like this agitation and you curse your luck. However you are not without defense in this moment of weakness. Should the clown attack your partner will defend you and a flash of brilliant blue flame. After all, she was forever and always by your side.
What a loyal Great White Rain Shark.

The thrill of the fight thrummed heavily in his veins, singing the telltale song of excitement and adrenaline. Everything came in fine-pointed details for the clown as he analyzed his opponent. He was a seasoned fighter, no doubt professionally trained and as fluid in movement as he was, but something was holding him back. There were signs of insufficient movement and slower reactions that lagged between his other movements. If Hisoka was not a veteran to violence himself, he wouldn't have noticed. But since he was, he did note that this man was either rusty or fighting with an injury.
Ah, well that was too bad, because he seemed to be enjoying himself. He could tell that he had bloodlust on his own, and it'd be difficult to indulge in it with something holding him back.
Hisoka noted the way his fist collided with Squalo. The swordsman had opted for a move to minimize the force transferred to his body. On a normal circumstance, that would've worked, but he had Nen on his side. Had he added Enhancement into the blow, he could've busted a rib. Luckily, he hadn't.
Squalo slid away, regaining his balance, but the damage had already done. Hisoka had finished setting up his trap. Many of his opponents didn't realize, but just mere contact with any part of him was a deadly mistake. His Nen was just that versatile, and he intended to use it soon. He would force this man out of his shell, sickness or not.
Grinning, Hisoka let out a crazed laugh at the sight of something refreshingly new. A shark hovered in front of Squalo protectively. It was wavering in the same blue flames that Hisoka had seen earlier, and it seemed intent on defending its master. Very well, then.
The clown whipped around, suddenly smashing a kick into the wall next to it. the brick and concrete cracked violently, breaking into shattered chunks. With a snap of his fingers, he had attached most of the slabs of stone with his Bungee Gum ability. The other ends were on Squalo's sword and side from where he had hit him earlier. Snapping, Hisoka watched the debris suddenly fly all at once in the direction of the swordsman, wondering what the shark could do and how he'd counter.

You gasp for breath and do not flinch when the clown suddenly kicks the wall. However you do visibly react when you take notice of something strange. The disembodied shards were sent at you by some unseen force and you needed to dodge soon. You didn't think that it was impossible for this guy to have some sort of flame, but you had never seen one create such an effect. You had seen flames embody themselves as many things. Literal Lightning. Rain. Illusions. However never force motion to something. Pin pointed motion by the looks of it too.
This was strange.
This man was strange.
Steeling yourself you leap into the air, using as much of your strength to add to the leap and send you soaring above as you could. However your eyes widen as the shards follow. He did something to you. That much you could tell.
You did not like this man's abilities. They were too useful.
You grit your teeth. You were in no condition to keep fighting and yet this clown was forcing you to. You needed to end this fast. Needed to flee and find reprieve for your fragile heart. You would have to use the remainder of your gunpowder pellets, that much you could already tell.
So you did with a swing of your sword outwards away from your body. Pellets sprayed from the unused end of the blade and flew towards the debris. Upon contact they would ignite creating a much more volatile explosion this time. However despite such close proximity you would be safe. Your partner would shield you with her flames and their tranquility. She would use her form as a platform for you, and enable you to gain footing to allow you to flee in the resulting smoke from the explosion.
You wouldn't get very far though. A roof top or two at most before you collapsed to your knees. You could hardly breathe your chest was hurting so much. If you could verbally curse, you probably would. Right now though, you only cursed your shitty luck. That and fucking Jaeger. You would kill that fucking Vindice once you got the chance.

It doesn't exactly take a keen eye to notice that his impromptu opponent was struggling. They had barely started, and he was already gasping for breath. Hisoka could tell, though, that he was putting up a brave front. He couldn't exactly blame him. Skilled fighters tended to carry quite the pride about them.
Hisoka grinned wide, watching as the swordsman fixed his gaze on him in surprise. He could already tell that he couldn't see Nen, but he was analyzing its effects and trying to figure out a counter.
"Futile," Hisoka thought to himself as Squalo retreated, the shards following after him. The only solution was one that the swordsman had come to as well, and Hisoka watched in approval as an explosion rocked through the air.
Hey now... he had acted a little late, hadn't he? Did he blow himself up? That would be...unfortunate.
Hisoka focused gyo in his eyes as he picked out the outline of Squalo surrounded by a heat in the shape of a large shark. Ah, that was right. That companion of his seemed incredibly useful.
He was ready to take it head on or something, but the swordsman did something that Hisoka rather disliked. He ran for it.
"Ehhh....♠" Hisoka watched in disappointment as the outline of the man fled onto the rooftops. Then again, if he really was experiencing some issues, then he didn't blame him. He wouldn't want to fight a losing battle either.
The wheels slowly began to turn in the magician's head as he weighed his options. It would be a waste to kill him, especially with those flames that he had yet to understand. it would also be a waste to let him go.
Hisoka leaped onto the rooftops after him, propelled by his Nen as he ran. It wasn't hard to catch up and keep pace, and he watched as the man's legs gave out from underneath him not too long after.
The clown landed a little further off away from him, keeping his distance for a moment with his hands raised to show that he was harmless.... at the moment.
"Sorry about that. You seemed interesting, so I wanted to check out what you could do. ♣" Granted, he couldn't seem any more unapologetic than he did at the moment.
"Eeeer, you need a hand there? You don't look so good. ♠"
PERMALINK // POSTED ON: Apr 7 2017, 06:55 PM
@HISOKA MOROW Sorry for the delay.
He hacked and coughed for several minutes as he sputtered for air. The chest pain was really making it hard for him to breathe and his focus was going in and out. Damn it all. He knew he shouldn't have taken the first opportunity at a heart transplant that he could after that bitch Jaeger crushed his original heart. He could have lived as a zombie off of Mammon's illusionary heart for a little while longer. Could have found a better match. Now he was up shit creak without a paddle and his body was rejecting the transplant.
He shook his head. He had to push through it. He had to get away. Get to safety, or something. "Sorry about that. You seemed interesting, so I wanted to check out what you could do. " Dammit. Of course he had been able of following his tracks. With those damned powers the clown possessed the shark would have been surprised if he hadn't somehow tracked him down rather than assuming he perished in the blast like many others would have. He cursed something incoherent.
"Eeeer, you need a hand there? You don't look so good. " What was this now? Pity hour? That's right, pity the damn shark that couldn't even utter a fucking word properly right now. Yeah cause that was what he needed, your fucking pity. The shark hissed and coughed shaking his head. He didn't want anyone's help. He would manage somehow on his own. Even as his world literally turned upside down and he fell onto his back still gasping for air.
Dammit his chest hurt so much. He didn't even realize it when his right hand grasped at his clothing over the area. By now his companion had returned to her dormant form as a ring on said hand's ring finger. That too he didn't even notice. Heck he could hardly notice anything right now. What with the world literally spinning around him. Oh god make it stop.
Make it stoooooop.
PERMALINK // POSTED ON: Apr 15 2017, 05:44 PM
Hooo boy, Shark Man really didn't look to be in good shape at all. It had been easy enough to follow him given how injured he seemed, and he wondered how he had been hired as a bodyguard in the first place. He hadn't even really landed a hit on the guy, and here he was acting like he had a parasite trying to worm its way out of his chest or something.
Hisoka let out a forlorn sigh as the man shook his head, rejecting his help. Even so, he couldn't even say a simple no to him, so he was sure he was lying. Welp, he guessed he'd help this guy out. He seemed to have potential, and it'd be a waste for him to just die like this on a rooftop.
Raising a hand to his chin, the magician smirked, studying him. His Nen was all over the place. Whether living beings liked it or not, they all had it, and he could at least tell that this man's vitals were waaaay off. Hisoka was a little glad now that he had learned manipulation while he could. It looked like he was going to need to give him som impromptu first aid before he carried him to the hospital.
"Mmm~? ♥" Hisoka watched as Squalo collapsed onto his back, a sign that he wasn't doing so great. Well, he guessed that he needed to act soon, and him being on his back was perfect.
"I'd tell you not to move," Hisoka hummed as he approached him, "But I think you're not going to whether or not you want to listen to me. ♣"
With that, the magician squatted down next to the white-haired assassin, easily slipping a hand under his back to prop him up. Without asking for permission--it wasn't like the poor man could struggle--Hisoka traced his fingers over his chest as if looking for something before stopping. Blinking with concentration, he let out a burst of Enhancement Nen first for minorly healing any damages that he could. Next, he added a steady stream of Manipulation, slowly fine-tuning the energy around Squalo's heart to his desire as he frowned.
Yikes, this was a little harder than he thought. He had experimented on himself before and had been able to make whole body parts, but doing it to someone else was an entirely different story.
Hisoka let out a small grunt of disapproval, lifting the former mafia member easily like he was a pile of blankets. He shifted, letting him rest in a princess carry over his arms. The Manipulation Nen he had added would probably calm the erratic beating in his chest, what Hisoka identified as a sort of heart murmur that was causing the pain. He had reconstructed most of the attacked organ best as he could. It would work since what he had noticed to be a transplant wasn't completely destroyed just yet. He had time.
"I'm going to be expecting dinner after this. ♣" Hisoka chuckled as he took off from the rooftops, heading for the nearest hospital.
