WELCOME TO OUR MULTIVERSE.
You've slipped through the ephemeral veil of gossamer that separates your own world from ours. It is a train which mysteriously brought you here. These trains also serve as our lifeblood by interconnecting our six dimensions.

Hialao is the nucleus, a modern, sunny and hospitable seaside realm; Wildewall is steeped in tradition, good for those with archaic roots and a taste for wilderness; Elestis is the fantasy land of ever-tumbling magic and whimsical imagination; Parse whirs like the massive digital machine that it is, advanced and technological.

Barrows is the breeding ground of chaos, with refrains of grunge and anachronistic crime; Tethya is the small but glorious underwater world reminiscent of Victorian times; and those who don't feel at home in any of these places, or simply like to wander, are known as Drifters.

B ut satisfaction brought it back. Her current location was a world underwater, unlike any she'd seen before.

Tethya was a new place to her. She'd gone between the dimensions, and had taken to hanging out mostly in Wildewall, for its environment was the most comforting to the inner beast, but this place, this city of bubbles surrounded by dark ocean, was another experience altogether. Pitou's brain could not comprehend it, but knew that some great power was at work hear to shield the city from the water and allow life to blossom beneath the waves. It was an impressive set of structures. She'd have loved to know more.

Her restless feet brought her here. Her brain was constantly taken with thoughts of home, and she was desperate to return, but there was nowhere to go. That drive that would have lead her to the King spun out of control, like a magnet disrupting a compass. She couldn't sit still, but she couldn't go anywhere either. Unless the magnet was removed, she likely would never stop. But those feet took her to fascinating places and she learned more everyday. It was a world where the average person lacked the aura she was used to sensing, and in fact they had no real energy to speak of. This was not merely far from East Gorteau, but entirely displaced from it. Of course, the dimensional train system should have been her clue that something was amiss, but in her panicked state Pitou understood only when she had sufficiently calmed.

That calm brought her here. She meant to go to Wildewall, but some for some reason boarded another train. She was glad she went with her instincts. It also gave her a mighty craving for fish, given humans seemed to be off the menu here... not that she would want to eat them anyway. With no aura, human flesh was as bland as the meat of beasts. She might as well eat the fish.

She wandered aimlessly up and down streets, passing through alleys and jumping up, balancing upon the edges with no effort spent. She explored with no thought as to where she was going, she paid no mind to those she passed, and her mind wandered to places where she felt most comfortable.

Then she felt it.

She It was a major street with many people, but with so many normal people about it was unmistakable. There was latent power here, dwelling out of sight, but unlike anything she'd ever sense before. It was strange... from her own experience all humans tended to give off the faintest of auras unless they went out of their way to conceal themselves, and this was no exception, but what she was instinctively detecting was not Nen. It was definitely not Nen.

Her En reached outward, the smallest of concentrated tendrils dodging in and out of trafficking feet, weaving between people and tapping into the unconscious energies given off by these most average of folk. One tendril made brief contact; the target made a hard right now an alley. She could have just left it alone, because was it not common for strange people to inhabit these strange lands? But alas, Pitou was a curious creature, and she needed to know what new thing she'd discovered.

She climbed over the buildings to find the alley, and she watched from above. It was human, it seemed. Normal enough, perhaps young. Looks could be deceiving. He carried a bag with him, filled with food. He clearly didn't expect any battles today, for he stance seemed unguarded. Perhaps he'd taken this route before, and he knew it well enough to be completely comfortable. This was good and bad: there was power to be enticed out, and should she strike with too much strength, she might kill him before he could respond. Few people were strong enough to take on a Royal Guard.

She dropped down into the alley, landing as silently as she could, and she crept as a feline did.

Closer... closer... She picked up speed, the soles of her shoes scraping against the ground.

She refrained from using claws and balled her hand up into a fist. As the range of distance closed between them she leaped forward, aiming a punch at his shoulderblade, pooling enough aura to hurt but, hopefully, not enough to completely rip through the arm. Pitou wasn't used to holding herself back so in truth, this attack was as much an experiment in her power as it was in his. She just needed to draw out that power!

"Er... let's see...." Kakyoin puzzled over the variety of fish in their tanks as he stood. He already had the rest of the needed groceries in hand for the rest of the week. He had gotten udon noodles, broth cubes for miso soup, a bag of rice, a carton of eggs, vegetables, and sauces. Now, all he needed was to consider what they were going to eat tonight. He had enough ingredients left in the apartment for omurice in the morning. But...Jotaro always ate quite a lot.

"Um, excuse me, I'll take these two, please," Kakyoin finally decided.
Soon, he had the two mackerel in a bag as well, so fresh that they were still twitching. He had also gotten a piece of salmon for the next day that he'd pack for lunch.
The perks about living in Tethya was the cheap seafood. They were, after all, underwater. It reminded him of the seafood markets in Japan. It was a good thing, too, because he had plenty of recipes in his head for seafood. And Jotaro seemed to like seafood too.

The groceries were pretty heavy in hand, to say the least, but it wasn't a problem for him. The doctors had warned him to take it easy. Until he was cleared from physical therapy, he couldn't do anything too extreme. Kakyoin had resolved most of his problems using his Stand, Hierophant Green. No one could see it, after all, so the green and silver tendrils wrapped around his arms and supporting the weight of the groceries in his hands as he walked went mostly unnoticed. People passing by just admired his ability to be able to balance so many bags at once without getting tired.

Kakyoin was headed out of the Belontia Quarter to the Auxis Quarter. He was hurrying home because it was almost five, and he needed to get dinner started. After all, Joutarou would be getting home from his part-time too, and they'd both be hungry and tired. The ever-dutiful friend had just turned a corner into one of the empty streets when he felt an odd chill run down his back like something was wrong. Kakyoin paused, slowing his steps as he glanced around, perplexed. He couldn't explain the feeling, but it was almost like he was being watched, and he couldn't place what was wrong. He was alone...or should have been. He couldn't see anyone else.

Caution nagged at the back of his mind as he continued to walk, giving no indication that he had noticed the odd energy. These dimensions always held the possibility of bringing dangers from outside worlds. For all he knew, a malicious Stand user from one of their fights could have some to Tethya, and he would have been none the wiser. He still couldn't shake the feeling that there was something more, though. He had sensed something like a raw energy at his back--a presence that had unsettled him the moment he had noticed it. But it had vanished as quickly as he had noticed it. Was he just being paranoid?

Kakyoin knew that if he was going to get attacked, it was better alone here than out in the open where other civilians were walking. He didn't want to cause any collateral damage. Hierophant's tendrils dug into the ground, bypassing the concrete easily and taking root underfoot. He was leaving the tendrils around him as he walked to give him a better sense of what he was dealing with. Vibrations ran across the ground as someone--something?--landed behind him. Judging from the sound of shoes and the strike of footsteps, it was coming towards him, and fast.

Kakyoin immediately moved into action, deeming whatever coming at him at such a startling speed to be a threat. His groceries were quickly set aside, and he was turning to look at whatever was approaching him.

A startled noise left his throat as he caught sight of the blur of motion that was Neferpitou. His eyes almost didn't follow the rate at which she was moving. How was this possible? For a moment, he was reminded of the initial speed Star Platinum had when he had first fought Joutarou. No doubt he was much faster now, and with the ability to stop time, but this was up there.
"H-hierophant!"
Emerald energy enveloped his outline as the rest of his Stand burst into existence, throwing up a cushion of tendrils around the point of contact between her fist and his shoulder blade. There was the solid sound of the blow making contact, and Kakyoin was sent sprawling, tendrils wrapped around him to prevent him from skinning himself against the concrete.

Kakyoin's mind was racing as he sat up, wincing. Hierophant vanished around him as he brought a hand up to his shoulder which was now screaming in agony. That was no ordinary punch. If he hadn't cushioned it, the blow probably would have broken bone. He could already feel the smarting and swelling starting. That was going to leave a nasty bruise.
Ignoring the pain, Kakyoin got back to his feet, a little shaky. He sized up the one who had attacked him, noting the tail and the ears. She... didn't look human at all. What the hell was she? Had she used a Stand? Why was she attacking him?
His mind raced as he braced himself. If she launched forwards again, he wasn't sure if he could avoid her. She was really fast. He'd have to use Hierophant, and he wasn't exactly in prime combat condition.

"What do you want?" he snapped defensively, trying not to let his anxiety show. Hierophant's tendrils flared to life around him again, and he took a few steps back to widen the distance between him.
If she was here to threaten either his or Joutarou's safety, then he wasn't going to hold back. He could already tell that he was fighting someone with high speed and strength, and he could see a thin film of some kind of energy coating her body. This wasn't going to be easy, but... like hell he was going to let himself be pushed around like this.
Hey, why don't you play with me?

W hen Pitou felt her fist collide with the other’s shoulder she squeaked. Not for the strange straps of green that suddenly enveloped him, but for the force she felt when it resisted her strength. Had it made complete, unbroken contact, she surely would have caused a lot of damage! That was not the intent, and clearly Pitou had a great deal to learn about controlling her raw power. Regardless, the attack rewarded the ant with what she wanted: a view of the strange power she knew the human had.

Its form was humanoid – a fair bit unlike most Hatsu she’d seen – and it seemed as though it was meant to be used for some kind of combat. Why else would anyone develop abilities like this? It didn't feel or look like Hatsu. Her eyes could see an aura about the other, but it was... not the familiar aura of Nen.

Kakyoin was not the only one to take a step back. Pitou too bounced backwards several steps as the gelatinous creature formed overhead, wrapping itself around its partner protectively. He questioned her, but Pitou did not listen, her eyes focused instead on that creature.

She pressed a finger to her lower lip and observed it carefully: mechanical, yet organic. It was a heavily jointed creature with a body that rippled as water did. It was masked with gold eyes that seemed to float. Perhaps most alarming, and Pitou noted this with great interest, several extremities had elongated themselves to the point they could pass for armor, though they were thin as paper. It survived one of her hits. It was lucky that it could do this. Had Pitou damaged the human any more, he might have been incapable of properly responding.

“Interesting,” said she, half to herself, “I did not expect this. But I don’t know what I expected, to be honest.”

The next question: what was the extent of this creature’s power? He fell so easily to her fist Pitou was unintimidated by what stood before her eyes, and though she’d like to see it in action, she surmised she might also get an answer with words. Even at her weakest, she risked harming the subject.

“What is it?” She inquired, returning her eyes to Kakyoin. Her form was loose, as though she had not just initiated combat and she were merely here to chat.

“You radiate a weird power, and it looks like I sensed right. I’m impressed your little squishy managed to hold off my attack. Granted, it wasn’t the best I could do, but it is a bit of a feat nonetheless.” He didn’t appear to be in the best shape, even after that. Neferpitou didn’t quite know why, but that single hit seemed to take a fair bit out of him. Unfortunate. Were a battle to ensue he probably wouldn’t measure up.

At the very least, his fortuitous turn into the alley gave them an intimidating battleground. Alleys were always prime places for combat, after all, and the lack of bystanders meant no bodies to clean up. Pitou decided, finally, to answer his question. Sort of.

“I have similar powers you see, but yours are unlike mine! It’s very strange.”

Kakyoin's mind had already kicked into fighting mode. The 50 days he had spent traveling to Egypt had instilled in him the ability to be cautious, but also prepare for a fight in a moment's notice. Joutarou had said people were falling through into the dimensions from other worlds, but he hadn't expected to face an attack so soon after he had been discharged from the hospital. Was this a new Stand user? But normally, they didn't just charge him up front like this. Something was different.

Kakyoin stood, gathering himself as he winced. With a roll of his shoulder, he could already tell that it was going to be bruised, but it wasn't a horrible pain. he could ignore it easily. He remembered the time N'Doul had slashed scars down his eyes. He remembered the first steps he had taken during physical therapy here in Tethya. He remembered seeing Jotaro's face, filled with concern when he spoke to him about his condition. That was true pain. Not this.

Kakyoin listened to the strange being. She didn't look human. She had cat ears and a tail, which made no sense to him. What the hell was she? She had to be from a different dimension. He was already tense, annoyed, and on guard, but every extra word that came out of her mouth really ground on his nerves.
Little Squishy? Wasn't the best she could do? What had she expected attacking him out of the blue like that? Had she expected top-notch response when all he had wanted was to get some blasted groceries?
Now he was actually angry. She had stepped on parts of his pride without realizing it. Hierophant Green was important to him. Very important. No one just looked down on his Stand like that.

"His name," Kakyoin snapped, swiping a hand through the air angrily to cut her off, "is Hierophant Green. And he's my Stand."

He could care less if she had similar powers as him. She had initiated the fight and insulted him. He wasn't nothing. He wasn't worthless. He...could take care of himself. God, he was frustrated. Maybe this was just pent up frustration from living the life of a patient, having everyone walk around him like they were afraid of stepping on him and breaking him. He wasn't some...eggshell laying around waiting to be crushed.

"You wanted to see my power?" Kakyoin asked, throwing up more tendrils around him, "Well, here it is!"

Liquid green burst to life in different locations of the shimmering tendrils, launching concentrated blast after concentrated blast of emeralds at Neferpitou. While the attack was being shot at her, he made use of the tendrils he had been leaving in the concrete. All this time, he had been feeding them into the ground nonchalantly, now he could use them. He glared at Pitou, knowing she was fast. But could she avoid this when even DIO hadn't been able to do so?
Either way, Kakyoin was more focused on the trap he had lain for Pitou, like he had for Tower of Gray. Suddenly, Hierophant's tendrils erupted from the ground, aiming to stab through solid metal if it had to. But no, he was up against a creature with life and flesh.

Pitou saw his face contort with anger and annoyance. Her words, though she truly meant nothing insulting by them, had apparently done a number to his emotions. On one hand this was a good thing. Angry people fought harder, but it was also uncalled for. She merely wanted to talk and maybe have a tiny little spar. She simply needed a taste of what he could supply.

She wished to speak more, but as Pitou opened her mouth and began such, his hand cut through the air like a knife. It stopped her, but she wasn’t sure why. It was a bold gesture that held strength, and his was an unassuming appearance. When she first approached Neferpitou only sensed that energy within him – this Stand, as she now knew it was called – but he didn’t look a warrior. Not to her, anyway. The two of them stood together as warriors and as equals and Hierophant channeled his anger. Her head tilted inquisitively, watching the spectacle before her. Then he attacked.

It wasn’t merely armor. It was a weapon.

Its tendrils crept through the air like vines and expanded aggressively outward. She knew not its strength or durability, but it fended off her fist. She expected tougher than your average human, something that would require her not hold back. Now, what could he possibily do with a ‘Stand’ like this? The way it moved about, the way it wriggled and coiled, she imagined it more like a snake than anything else. All she needed to do was dodge between the tendrils until she reached him. She could strike the Stand as she struck a human. Despite phasing in and out of existence as Hatsu did, it felt solid against her fist.

Could she attack both of them…?

That made things more complicated, but it almost made it more fun~.

But then he did something she did not foresee: he attacked from a distance. Surprised Pitou took the hits, throwing her arms up in front of her head protectively while the emeralds crashed into her body, shattering against her rock-hard exoskeleton. Unfortunately for him Pitou’s body was built to withstand all except the absolute strongest of attacks, and even then most physical attacks required a great amount of aura to even penetrate. Regardless, the attacks rattled her insides painfully, even if the energized green gemstones didn’t make proper contact with them.

So that was his true attack! Aha! Pitou needed only get closer. Quick she was, but rather than risk another barrage halting her as she approached, Pitou called upon one of her own abilities: the mighty Terpsichora.

She called its name, beckoning it to dance, and sped forward towards Kakyoin with her looming ballerina behind her – but she staggered, both feet leaving the pavement, and then she fell to the ground. Her legs had been bound, to her surprise, by the very tendrils she’d written off. Of course… if it could be armor, why could it not entangle an enemy? What a mediocre assumption to make…!

She pushed up from the ground and forced herself to stand, taking a step as Terpsichora still towered above. She had to rip these bindings away… but what lay hidden in the ground burst forth like a living spike room, their tips attempting to drill through her carapace into the organs within. It was a great force, more annoying than it was painful, but the pressure coming in from all sides pushed the ant over the brink. Terpsichora manipulated her already lithe body around to grasp within her paws a few of the stray tendrils, and with all her might she tore through them.

The bitter scent of iron overtook her senses. They’d spilled blood onto her hands and onto the ground – his blood.

… What? That was… unexpected.

He noticed that when the emeralds collided with the odd cat-like person he was facing, they bounced off with hard clicks. Kakyoin blinked, bewildered for a moment when he realized that her appearance was terribly deceiving. She had an exoskeleton like an ant. She wasn’t just some part cat part person...creature. She had nature’s armor around her, and it looked like his Emerald Splash just left mere bruises. He would have to send a concentrated blast at her if he wanted to knock her back and do actual damage.

Before he could move and come up with an alternative attack in case the one he was currently planning had no effect, the area behind Pitou wavered. Instinct made him retreat backwards. After his fight with DIO, he had learned to be cautious.
What the hell was that thing? It was like a Stand, but it obviously wasn’t. She had to have a power similar to Stands, then. It seemed to be controlling her, like a puppet. Either way, it was something he didn’t understand yet, so he would have to be cautious.

It was a good thing, he had used Hierophant’s tendrils to wrap around her feet, it looked like. She moved to lunge at him, but was stopped short.
Now.
”Hierophant!”
Tendrils erupted from the concrete, tearing through the air and aiming to pierce through her exoskeleton. In terms of attacks, besides his 20 meter Emerald Splash, it was the strongest he could muster. Hierophant was no Star Platinum, but it was useful in its versatility.

Kakyoin had been confident enough to think that’ he’d land a strike in. It hadn’t occurred to him that Pitou’s reaction speed rivaled Joutarou’s. It happened in an instant. One moment, he was standing, the next moment, he felt pressure digging into his wrist, calves. Kakyoin barely had time to make the tendrils in Pitou’s grasp split into even smaller strips to minimize the damage as she tore them apart.
She had gathered more of them than he had anticipated at once, dealing damage spread all around his Stand. Kakyoin let out a small gasp as cuts opened on the back of his left calf. He could feel that some of his tendons had also been torn. He had managed to keep the wounds localized, but now it was just going to cause him pain. His blood soaked through his pants leg, splattering to the ground as he took a shaky step back from Pitou, eyeing Terpsichora warily. It seemed to enhance her speed and strength by controlling her to move faster--hit harder.

Hierophant’s tendrils withdrew quickly as Pitou suddenly paused, and Kakyoin tensed. Why was she staring at him like that? Either way, he had to escape. Joutarou would be pissed if he didn’t get home early enough to patch himself up. He’s have to fake not being injured. Another blow to his pride. Going in and challenging a stranger--a creature--that was stronger than him. Even if he hadn’t known, he could’ve been more careful.

Kakyoin waited for Pitou to move, formulating possible counterattacks and options he had left so that he could get away. Ugh, he had spent all that money on groceries, too.

She hadn’t expected the creature to bleed all over her. She saw the other fall to the ground, noticed the red seeping through his clothing, that he’d become injured despite her not striking him directly - not since the first hit, anyway. This was not Nen. It was physical. She could touch it and deflect it. But she also harmed it and it bled on her, and from what she could tell both weapon and wielder had the same blood flowing through them. They were connected intimately, on a level she hadn’t expected.

She was confused because she’d never encountered anything like this before.

Hierophant was recalled back to its user and Pitou was left to stare at the blood that was now on her hands. This was normal to her, to be drenched in the fluids of her victims, but she didn’t expect it to come from what she perceived was only an ability. She dragged her rough, feline tongue over her skin and tasted the blood that had been left behind.

Whatever it was… it wasn’t Nen.

It wasn’t an entirely unappealing taste, but it wasn’t what she wanted. There was no energy to be gained from something incompatible, and it stagnated upon her hand and in her system. It sat upon her tongue, sweet but flavorless all at once, lightly spiced with fear and adrenaline. Not bad… but not a taste she’d want to indulge in often. He was a fun plaything with an interesting power, but he wasn’t a target worth pursuing. Eating a human like this wasn’t smart.

Terpsichora dispersed and Neferpitou fell out of her battle stance. She approached the fallen redhead with a smile - a fair bit more genuine than it had been. Disappointed she was, but she’d also been entertained and enlightened. She had questions to ask.

“Thank you for your demonstration, human. I’ll heal you as thanks. How’s that sound?”

The creature that had attacked him has suddenly stopped her assault. He had been prepared to use Hierophant to escape onto some nearby roofs, but he had paused as she did. He was trying to figure out just how badly his leg had gotten wounded. The rest were insignificant cuts, but he had piled up some damage when he had already been explicitly told to take it easy. No doubt Joutarou was going to be cross when he got home.

Kakyoin shuddered despite himself as Pitou lapped the blood from her hands--his blood--as if she were a child licking frosting from her fingers. For a moment, he was in the alleyway again, facing DIO and his sharp fangs as they descended upon him and...

God he had to stop thinking about that. The vampire was dead, and that was final. He was just making himself suffer at this point.

It also looked like the ant was done attacking him. Her Stand-like construct also vanished, and she approached him with the grace of a feline. Kakyoin tensed, frowning as he prepared to defend himself, staring back at her cheerful expression with one of wariness.

He wasn't expecting to be thanked, though. Definitely not. for a moment, Kakyoin was stunned, unsure of how to reply.
"Wait, what?" Kakyoin asked, holding back the profanity that almost made it into his sentence. "You attacked me for a demonstration, and now you want to heal me?"
It was an incredulous thought to him, and it made no sense. However, the more he studied Pitou, the more he noticed the look in her eyes, and how she seemed positively childlike. She...hadn't even realized that she had done something wrong, hadn't she?

"Whatever," Kakyoin forced through gritted teeth, collapsing against the wall of the alleyway and sitting down to check on his injuries. He had gotten a taste of her power. He knew he would've been dead ten times over is she had wanted it. "Do what you want. What even are you, anyways?"

Ahhh… she was a little too rough with him. She’d barely touched him, yet all the damage done to what he called a Stand was enough to harm in so much. She almost felt a little remorse for it. After all, she expected him to last longer than he had, or at least come out of it a little more unscathed. These Stands sure made humans flimsy, didn’t they? Ah, nonetheless, Neferpitou would do as she offered and heal him. He’d earned at least that much. He knew not to attack and prolong the fight, which was smart.

She knelt next to him as he fell against the wall and to the ground, sitting almost as a cat would: squatting, hands firmly pressing into the ground for support, her tail lightly bouncing behind her without her notice.

“Neferpitou. A chimera ant, if you are truly curious.” She suspected she might have to explain, but he didn’t seem to impressed with her presence and it might be more likely he was just wanting to leave and go home. She’d ruined his day enough.

“I felt your power,” she explained, “and I wanted to see what it did. The best way to do that is in combat, right? That’s what these abilities are for.” She would be rather hard-pressed to find Hatsu that didn’t have a use in violence or was without any connotation related to combat, but it wasn’t uncommon. There were some ants with those powers. Doctor Blythe was, perhaps, the closest she had to a non-combat move, but the healing she did tended to come from a battle’s aftermath.

And so, as she spoke, Doctor Blythe appeared, manifesting suddenly from the very tip of Neferpitou’s tail and towering over the two just as Hierophant and Terpsichora had.

“Where are your injuries?” She inquired. She could see cuts in various places and suspected from his limp she might have harmed a leg.
